The Cannabinoid Terpenoid Binding Affinity
I'm merely a spectator on the sidelines, but if I was a professional breeder of autoflowering cannabis, I would use modern data and equipment to help create 3-5 super strains of autoflowering cannabis, each with it's own capabilities. There's an apparent demand for medical ingenuity in this field, but it's creeping along. I believe the problem can be compared to an antiquated musician, one that has long lost his inspiration, and can no longer compose songs with those shiny melodic hooks. Nearly all strains do just one thing, get you high. There's a lot going on within the body that medical breeders need to know. Since the public have become more aware of CBD, hemp seeds are becoming impossible to find. The human immune system is systematically under attack, and as Dr Courtney has so wisely stated, to avoid cancer, everyone needs cannabis/CBD in their diets.
A few months ago I was investigating some of the more technical aspects of medical marijuana. The known science of the inner workings of cannabis within the human body are still in it's infancy, but there's a lot of rare gems if you look. But I hope my findings can possibly help inspire breeders to look deeper to develop superior genetics. The average grower and user has little to no idea what I'm writing about, but I hope readers will be stimulated by the wealth of scientific facts which I shall hitherto try to present.
I stumbled upon a talk given by the good Doctor, William Courtney. He is a preeminent cannabis physician in NorCal. He made some interesting comments regarding the CB1 CB2 and the GPR55 orphan receptor. More interesting were his comments concerning the affinity of cannabinoids and terpenoids. There's a unique binding affinity associated with cannabinoids and certain terpenoids at the orthosteric and allosteric sites of the CB1 & CB2 receptors. In layman terms, this could mean a much longer lasting effect from a smaller dose. The knowledgeable breeder in his excitement would surely work to discover and isolate the compounds initiating this binding affinity. This reminds me of the old saying, less is more. It is true when the chemistry is spot on.
The good Doctor, Allan Frankel of SoCal is another one of my personal cannabis heroes. I thoroughly enjoy reading his unbiased material. He's been quoted saying, "My personal belief is that pretty much the current wealth of CBD rich strains anywhere in the country came from Amsterdam five years ago"
Taking these original cuttings, numerous California Seed Masters are on their 4th generation of various CBD rich strains. These seeds are available in California as well as cuttings of pretty much any of the rich CBD strains for legitimate patients. Many new and wonderful and more efficient strains are being developed and I am proud to say we locally have several ongoing seed/genetic studies where new strains are found, grown and tested. Did you notice his lack of mentioning any new autoflowering CBD strains? If I wasn't so sick, I would go to CA, get a card and gather the best seeds there.
Well, the data is out there, and everything needed to step up the process of creating faster finishing higher quality meds for patients out of time. I believe there's an opportunity to earn millions of dollars, and the love and respect of patients out of time is priceless.
