Since an auto pretty much goes straight to flower do you guys just skip the high nitrogen ferts for vegging and just start pounding the potassium from the get go?

Also, better results vegging them until they show sex under a MH or do you just keep them on HPS from seed? Use both?

It's a new one for me... flowering 24/0 is going to be weird lol..

I personaly start veg nutes around days 10-14 and use them until about day 28 or so then I start the bloom nutes. Check FullDuplex's guide to autos thread. It helped me alot. As for the lighting, I switched between MH/HPS with my first grow but then I always had plants at different stages in my room so now I'm only using HPS and it doesn't seem to be a problem. I did notice that seedlings got bigger faster with the MH bulb. I think I may switch to a dual arc bulb. Also I use a 20/4 light schedule which works pretty good and is a little easier on the electric bill. Hope this helps.

I've started to use grow for first 3 weeks, 1/2 grow 1/2 bloom for 2 weeks, and bloom for the remainder. Gonna try that out. As for lights... I hear ya about the whole having plants in various stages thing. At some point I may look into getting some 400's so I could have CMH bulbs. But, my lighting fantasies are all over the place right now. So I just toss in the 600 hps and scream GO! Not that it helps them go faster....

I hit mine with nutes at planting and then weekly till they show sex and then switch to bloom nutes. One thing I noticed in ypur original post you said hit them with potassium..potassium controls more of the root system than anything..use the higher nitrogen and potassium for veg and then potassium and phosphorus for flower. Its the phosphorus that dictates the flowering. All plants like the blue light for vegging. You can run HPS full cycle without too many problems though. I took someones advice and ran straight HPS for my first grow..won't do it again. I started my second 6 under nothing but blue cfl and will be hitting them with the mh as of today and that's where ill keep them till they sex. If you're in question about nutes there are several posts that reference to Blue Mountain Organic nutrients. My advice would be to at least take a look at them.

What and when to feed your seedlings also depends on what soil mix you're starting them in. I use Pro Mix which only contains small amounts of nutrients, so do add some blood meal to my starter mix. Otherwise I start to see N deficiencies at 2-3 weeks. I feed 1/4 strength veg nutes starting at week 2, gradually increase to 1/2 strength and continue through week 5 or 6 before switching to bloom nutes. I've vegged under a 400 watt HPS but get better results from my MH/CFL combo.
