Hello there!
So I wanted to start growing myself and bought a Dark Box complete set (
Amazon product). In this set there is almost everything I need (bought the rest from other sources). I just don't understand what to do with the following three (four) things: (HPS lamp,) class 2 ballast, timer switch, dimmer switch.
The lamp is directly connected to the ballast, I got that. The plug of the ballast is a CEE 7/7. The socket of the timer switch is a CEE 7/5. The only compatible plug I got is the one of the ballast. I guess this plug should go in this socket. Is this safe? Since it is a 600 watt lamp/ballast and the inrush current is higher than the operating current I fear frying the timer switch. And what should I do with the dimmer switch? Should I plug the timer switch into the dimmer switch (it is compatible though)? It looks like daisy-chaining which is not very safe.
Somehow I feel like this set is not very well thought out.
Additional info: the timer switch has a CEE 7/7 plug, the dimmer switch a CEE 7/3 socket and a CEE 7/4 plug. The wall sockets in my house are all CEE 7/3.
I hope you can help me out since I am currently really scared to continue because of this.
