Indoor 600w Ballast

Is it possible to use a 600w ballast with a 400w hps? or would it blow the bulb, maybe even change the wattage is that possible?. Thanks in advance guys!.

Won't work, you'll blow the bulb. C.A.P. NextGen makes a 400/600 watt switchable ballast that you can run either in.
