So i had a strain that said 9 weeks from germination to flower, i am now on week 12 and my time of departure for family vacation is closing in fast.

Just some quick info maybe u can help me figure out whats going on... i am using advanced nutrients line and they have something called overdrive (you should only use for 2 weeks then flush and harvest, but i am in hydro and using their flushing agent which u should for the last week) but ive been biding my time waiting for trichomes and its going on 3 weeks now... its been about 50/50% clear+cloudy

now out of the blue without any pistil production for a little while suddenly the entire plant starts exploding out in new pistils, and its supposed to been harvested 3 weeks ago? i ran it longer with overdrive just for it to ripen and bulk up..

the budd has swelled up a bunch but still maybe 50/50 with clear+cloudy going on for 2 weeks now?

should i cut out the overdrives and stuff is thats what causing it to keep growing?

anyway enough of my ramble here's a few pictures of my girl, anyone got an indication when she might be ready? ive had 2 previous growth and regretted not waiting longer on both! so its killing me a bit now with vacay coming up...

Honestly, I would plan to harvest soon. The buds are starting to foxtail which is a sign of stress. The trichs will continue to mature as the plant dries.

Hey man thanks for the reply!

I think the top might be foxtailing as it grew pretty much almost all the way into the lights. But not so sure its all signs of stress tho? even the small airy popcorn budds thats not seeing any lights got new pistils popping out!

Will it keep changing trich colors while you are drying? if so think enough of em will turn to make here into a potent lady? supposedly a 22% thc strain

But i really dont want another plant were i have to bong 0.5 to get a decent buzz that lasts for 30min

Foxtails are either genetic, or signs of stress. Rarely genetic, because no one selects foxtails as a trait they want to keep and pass on to other plants. The trichomes will continue to mature (turn cloudy or amber) as the buds dry. I don't use/believe those the percentages companies list.. But if it were true, Im sure it would be 22% when the plant is perfectly grown and in perfect conditions. Growing a healthy plant from seed to harvest will always help or increase the potency of the final product.

I don't see how new growth is a problem. To me even foxtails are not a problem (but they could be if you are selling to those seeking bag appeal), with foxtails seeming to have just as much trichomes/THC as the other parts of the bud.

I suggest (I would) just keep on feeding, including the P-K/finishing supplement, and harvest when the trichomes are ready or at the very last time that you still have 4-5 days to get to a steady dried state before you leave. And consider packaging the 'dried' herb with a suitable Boveda pack.

I and and many others (but perhaps not most) don't see any need, logic or better results with flushing (starve the plant when you want it to put out the most resin!), much less using a potent flushing product to strip-out/bind all the nutrients.

Nah it was mainly problem with not beeing done as i was thinking it was beeing ready to harvest 2-3 weeks ago! and thats how i planned my summer around :)

The flushing agent of Advanced Nutrients is used alongside the full dose feeding, you just add it into the mix 1 week before harvest and it will pull out the toxic shit from the budds while keep swelling them (afaik) and at the end before harvest you flush for half a day in PH'd water and harvest

I ordered mine a bit late and started using on thursday i was originally planning on harvesting monday but im not sure and its killing me a bit.

how much potency difference could we be talking if i wait 1-2 weeks extra at this point?

No! Regarding "The flushing agent of Advanced Nutrients is used alongside the full dose feeding," the Adv. Nutr. Flawless Finish Web page states:

"The process of totally cleansing your flowers begins 4 to 10 days before you intend to cut them for harvest.
At that time, you drain your reservoir, fill it with fresh water, and add just one formula: Flawless Finish.....After you have added Flawless Finish to your plants’ water supply, allow it to circulate for the duration of your flushing period.

I'm having a similar issue, I'm in week 24, or 92 days from placing seeds in water. I would like to learn what it takes to prevent this from happening, or if it's really a bad thing unless you are in a time crunch, as the buds may keep getting larger and denser. If it something that could be prevented, would be nice to know. Will keep seeking answers.

When growing indoors, It's not simply "new growth".. It's Most often a stress reaction. Most commonly cause by excess heat or light. It's something that needs to be paid attention to. When plants show stress, they slow their production.. Im sure that is a factor in why the plant hasn't finished yet.

More then likely my bit to powerful QB leds, got x2 260w. And i just recently dimmed the lightning when i started seeing the sugar leaves fry.

In regards to Bill, I think there must be some misinformation i have read then because i was damn sure you just used it alongside your nutes and it would pull out some of the metals and toxins. I will try and track down were i read that information, going to change the res and put just the normal stuff again.

But these last few weeks the budds have really densed up, the main ones are proper solid now so at least it keeps growing but looks like i might have to do a bit earlier chop then i wanted :(
