New Grower 3 gallon pots uk or american gallons?

everyone says 3 gallon pots is this uk or american gallons? does it make a big diffrence if the pots are slightly smaller or slightly bigger than 3 gallons?

Size matters, but I'm happy with a UK 10 litre pot.

The industry has absolutely no standards for pot size. they were suppose to standardize 20 years ago. we see how well that went!
and I've not seen uk gallons used as a size. it seems to be all in liters. If its listed in gallons, its most likely U.S.
