Fast Buds 2nd grow: Rhino Ryder and LSD-25

Just put some seeds germinating tonight for my second go at growing.

Seeds: 3 Fast Buds Rhino Ryder, 1 Fast Buds LSD-25

I was going to do Fastberry and LSD-25, but I have some LSD stock piled now and it's a heavy indica. Rhino Ryder is a hybrid so I figured it would offer me more versatility. I am growing out the LSD again because I love it so much and want to try to get better results than the first time.

I am germinating using the paper towel method (except i use unbleached coffee filters)

I am using 3 gal smart pots with Happy Frog soil mixed with perlite, 60/40 respectively .
For lighting, I have 380w of CFL and 150w HPS.
I will be using a liquid fish fert, alpha thrive, buddha bloom, buddha grow, and cal/mag
Last time I did an 18/6 light cycle, this time I'm going to try 20/4.

That's all the info I can think of right now. Hoping to see the seeds germinated by monday )

So I checked on my little seeds this morning and none had germinated after about 24 hours. I know sometimes it takes longer, but with my first grow all three LSD-25's were germed in 24 hours. My hygrometer said the room was 70 degrees F, so I grabbed a little space heater and got the room temp to 85 degrees F and 2 hours later all my babies were germed! Just put these babies into the soil with some make shift humidity domes from solo cups and plastic wrap!

@tripaholic88 glad to have you along for the ride! I'm super pumped to see what you do with that LSD-25. Your setup is on point, seems like you have the potential to get a much higher yield than mine and hopefully some of that beautiful purple color! I'm hoping for both a better yield on this LSD and some more purps. The smoke is fantastic and I definitely recommend you make some qwiso. Every time I smoke the LSD qwiso I'm an astronaut haha. Those LEDs you have look great. Are they the 5w (new) or 3w (old) bulbs?

I can only study, ask ?'s and pray for a decent grow... I actuall just made my first batch of QWISO with everclear today lol. i used 12.5 grams of pressings from rosin tek i had laying around and was gonna throw out(Glad i didnt!) and it yielded 1.24G from it the "tincture" was a med.-light dark green and i put it in the oven on "warm" which is below 200 deg F with the door closed for 10 mins and then open it for 10 mins and repeat until the alcohol was dissolved and scraped it up and threw it in my silicone and put it in my dehydrator to make sure every bit of solvent was evap'd and it came out pretty good.. now to do it with some nice buds and eventually MY OWN buds and to my knowledge they are the 5w i just purchased them off their site and the specs say 5w... did they recently upgrade to 5w?

@tripaholic88 Nice job with the qwiso. I just made my first batch the other day. Before I made the qwiso I had never smoked a concentrate, that stuff blows my mind! I've never seen dabs made with ever clear. I think iso extracts a little differently from butane from what I was reading. I'm wondering how ethanol is different from the aforementioned solvents. What I was confused about is people complaining about getting white crystalline product from making qwiso. I had a buddy that would do acid/base extractions of DMT on some type of tree root/bark. He always said the purest extraction would be white, then yellow, and if you let it sit too long during the pull it would become an amber goo. So to me it seems that the more crystalline the product from qwiso the more pure it would be with less plant oils. I actually did my qwiso purposefully to get crystalline product and it worked beautifully. I ended up pressing most of it into a more oily puck, but that was for storing purposes.

As for the Mars Hydro, I have no actual experience but from why I've been told they used to use 3w diodes and now use 5w. Supposedly the 5w diodes get better penetration, but also run hotter. I think I heard the fact that the diodes run hotter decreases the lifespan of the light but I am uncertain about this. Also the hotter running lights might mean you have to place them further away from the plants so although they get better penetration, they are further away so I'm not sure how that works out, but it's something to consider. I'm actually really excited that you have the 5w diodes so I can see how they perform. I've seen some great grows from the 3w old style. Anyways, good work on your concentrate! TTYL

i have had experiance with concentrates just from doing rosin tek myself but i didnt know you could do it with alch. either but i was surfing around on youtube and found it lol. and yea ive atually done dmt extractions like your friend and i believe this runs kinda on the same principle of a non-polar extraction. The state of the DMT can be changed between a salt and a freebase by using acids or bases respectively. For example, if you have a pH 4 (acidic) solution( the tek i use this would be the water and vinegar solution containing DMT, the DMT is converted to a salt (using sulphuric acid: DMT Sulphate, using hydrochloric acid: DMT Hydrochloride, etc...). If you now raise the pH to 12 or higher (basic), all the DMT salt will be converted to its freebase form. As we change the state of the DMT, we also change its solubility properties: DMT salts are soluble in polar solvents (water) but insoluble in non-polar solvents. Freebase DMT is soluble in non-polar solvents (naptha,bestine) but is insoluble in polar solvents. Which i then do a freeze precipitation and decant/strain the left over solvent and then evap the remaining resulting in your desired product just like QWISO more or less.. And i am VERY excited to see these lights in action they are BRIGHT AS HELL!(hurts the eyes when your not even looking directly at them bright)

Woke up in the middle of the night, decided to peek into my little grow space and all 4 of my ladies have poked out of the soil! These Fast Buds are so damn fast! Germed in about 26 hours, sprouted in about 30 hours, love it. So from my personal experience I'm 7/7 for a 100% germ and sprout rate with Fast Buds gear, very impressed! I'll post pics when I get home from university! I'm so excited woot woot and I just can't hide it lol!

Did I mention I just ripped some LSD-25 with qwiso on it?

sounds like a great morning to me! Congrats on the 100% success rate so far! thats great i cant wait to see these babys... mine will be here tomorrow. Im right there with ya on the qwiso haha just ran 6.5 grams of some kind of sour and got back 1.52 for a 23.38% return rate. sampled it and its damn good. haha i have to work on my purity skills a little bit more i believe... i would like it a little more yellow and less green......

So I only took a picture of two of the babes because I have the CFLs very close (last time they stretched too much in the first few days in my opinion) and the way my room is its a hassle to get them in and out until the lights are raised a good bit higher. I don't want to stress them out on their first day on the surface!

So here's the Rhino Ryder (all three look identical)

Ok so initially I planned a a 60/40 mix of Happy Frog to perlite, but I only had 12 quarts of perlite so it's actually about 75/25. I also added a 3 pounds of worm castings because my buddy has several worm bins which mean free poop for me.

Last time I had soaked the soil prior to planting seeds which led to fungus gnats and some slow early growth. This time I planted in dry soil then used a spray bottle to apply my desired amount of moisture. My humidity domes are upside down solo cups with the bottoms cut off and a plastic wrap taped to the top. I also sprayed water all over the inside of the dome before placing them over the non sprouted seeds.

I do have a question. For my first grow I took my humidity dome off right at this moment; seeds popped the soil; dome was gone. Should I leave the dome on for a few days? I wasn't sure last time if I had taken it off too soon.

@tripaholic88 I don't know much about qwiso but that sounds like a huge yield percentage, nice work! Mine was like a .5g yield from 12g of shake lol. I think it was 3.5%, but I did it with trimmings. There were a few popcorn buds in mine, but probably not even a grams worth of the 12. My product was pretty pure I think. It kind of looked like pine pollen, light yellowy gold color. I just need to work on getting a higher yield. Do you know what a typical percentage return is for the qwiso process? I know there are a lot of variables to take into consideration so that might be a hard question to answer.
