24hr grow light room for AF.
I wanted to add vegetable greens to grow space.
Will the spinach, broccoli, other vegetable be okay with 24 hr light ?
What all options do I have ? auto vegetable seed ?
I want to keep 24hr light for main AF grow. I just wanted to add vegetables in room since there is light and space available.

Some grow great in Alaska with around 19 hours or so. The lettuce is crazy .

Make sure your temperatures/VPD and lighting levels are adequate. High heat will make some things bolt and most vegetables, non fruiting, need less than 25DLI but more than 12DLI of light or day. Fruiting vegetables like squash, tomatoes, etc will prefer 25-30+ DLI.

I think you should be good for greens the only problem I think would be plants that fruit when the season changes. But lettuce should grow indefinitely. Get one big container and just plant lettuce like grass.
survival of the strongest seeds will occur and you can harvest once a week.

Does that mean you could just buy led lights that go in a regular socket and grow lettuce like that? I would like to grow indoors in the winter and not waste tent space. I'd imagine it would be alot cheaper then using really powerful less both in light office and electricity costs. Thanks

@hello for each plant you want to grow look at what makes them fruit. Idk if broccoli respond to the season change. Maybe search is broccoli photoperiod.

You definitely could. I grew mesclun, bell peppers, and some other stuff with fixtures I built from bridgelux on 100w drivers to cover 4x2 spaces on a vertical rack. I dimmed them to hit target PAR and it worked out alright.

Easiest thing is either takes or vertical shelving from an ergonomic stand point. I had a small test area for tables and racking, both in Coco, but I preferred the tables.

What light are you using to feel the need to run your lighting 24/0?
