I want to Love the special edition 2 oz bags. The wider opening is so much easier to load and remove buds wo crushing them. Appears they have a heavier duty zipper? Seems to have more glue surface so they won't pull off? Well guess not. 2 nd bag I opened, zipper pulled right off. Think you need to get glue area closer to the actual zipper . The double zipper may be 2 strong for the 1 glue seam @Grove Bags #notreadyforprimetime

Seems to be a common problem, I have read about MegaCrop bags doing the same thing. It seems to arise only in heavier duty bags, I have never seen it happen on standard zip locks. I suspect that the problem is that the heavier duty and Grove bags are made out of two types of plastic, and it is the difficulty of welding the zipper plastic to the plastic used for the main bag. A PIA at any rate, and a bit much given the cost of these things. Too bad someone does not figure out how to make this stuff work better.

Where did you find 2oz? I also have had issues with the zippers pulling away on my 1oz even with hubby and I paying special attention to being careful opening them. Love them otherwise just wish the zippers held up better.
I'd asked for them awhile back cause the 1 oz were too small when you had big buds. Said they would look into it and voila they were up there last week.

On the 2 oz they put a double zipper and the whole thing is rather wide. It's only "glued" at the top. Looking at the ziploc bags, the whole width of the zipper is glued/sealed. Tend to agree with you about the two types of plastic as well. There's also this triple fold kind of deal that makes it difficult to figure how to open it

I'm pretty sure that the standard zip locks are molded out of solid polyethylene without the same lamination weakness as in the laminated bags like Grove Bags, or the MC bags which seem to include a foil layer or something like it. I have seen the zips fail on standard bags, but never by the zip plastic separating from the main body of the bag, just ripping or refusing to lock.

I expect that @Grove Bags is aware of the issue, as is @Greenleaf. If they have any comments on the problem, I would love to see them. I recall MC comments to the effect that they have tried to avoid the issue, but have not been able to source bags without the problem. It may simply be the unavoidable result of using plastics that do not readily weld together permanently. :pighug:

that happened on my 1 oz bags also. My qp and lb bags have great zippers. i think I will stick to qp bags from now on myself.
