Indoor 1st tent (2x2x5ft) need thoughts/suggestions.

I have a spectrum king 100w closet case and a secret jardin ds60 2x2x5ft tent on the way and im wondering how many plants and what size pots i should use? I know this probably depends alot on strain size lol
My goal is to use water only with gbd soil(plus ewc and dolomite lime mixed in), mammoth p, recharge, and optic foliar overgrow.
I always had to add bloom nutes and camg in mid to late flower in my micro grows with half gallon pots so i would like to use pots big enough to ensure there is enough gbd soil in the pot for the whole grow.
I was thinking one 3 gallon pot would be big enough to let one plant fill the tent and hold enough gbd soil to finish flowering.
But i would much rather have a variety of strains so i was thinking 2-3 two gallon pots but i dont think those will hold enough gbd soil to finish flowering.
Thoughts/advice/suggestions?

Secret jardin ds60 (2x2x5ft)
Spectrum king 100w closet case
4x8 phresh filter
4in vortex fan
Active air fan speed controller
2 six inch clip on fans

Once everything arrives i will get it set up and make a journal with pics.

The rule of thumb is basically one plant per square foot. I have a 2x2 and growing in it is sometimes unpredictable. Ive had two 2 gal plants overcrowd the tent.. And I've had three 2 gal plants work.. Depends on your training methods.. But I wouldnt go more than 2 if you're growing for yield.

Yep.. Always unpredictable... I grow in a 2x2 also. Right now I have 1 plant in a 2 gallon hempy and it's completely filled the space wall to wall.. Last grow I did 4 plants in 1 gallon grow bags with Roots Organic and it went just fine..

To be honest I think I like the 1 gallon pots with soil and topped once or twice.

As for water only... I don't know. I only tried it once. I really couldn't see the purpose.

I don't want to argue with anyone, but i feel that you need to be informed about that light. ...100w Closet Case is not sufficient light to flower a 2x2 space and achieve quality results. It's simply not enough light.. . That light is worth maybe $80. There is no 100w light available on the market than can flower a 2x2 and live up to the standard of .5 - 1.5 grams per watt.

4000k is on the high side of color tems for flowering. Not to say it won't work, but it's not ideal.

This is my advice.. Take it or leave it... Return the Closet Case...Go to Timber Grow lights and get 200w Vero 29 v7 kit for the same price and choose the 3500k ... This also gives you the option to remove the lenses if desired to achieve a greater spread.. It's also dimmable. Alll day long this is a way better light for the same price. Run at 200 watts it's actually more PPFD than your plants can use for that size space..

Or go to Home Depot and get 10 home Use LED's, remove the lenses and still have a better light for around $50..

those spectrum king are very powerful 100w lights, there's a grower here with experience who may be able to answer though, @Ronin do you think the closet case will work fine in a 2x2?

Im running two 55w autocobs in my 2x2.. One 3500k and one 4000k.. And it kicks ass in there.. It may actually be too much light.. Lol.. So 100w of the RIGHT light can definitely cover a 2x2 area.

Ditto. I don't know much about the Spectrum King light, but I know that I'm running autocobs as well in a 2.5x2.5 tent and the light is unbelievable. Once I get the height dialed in, my plants pray.

I've run a Closet Case in a 2x2.5' Gorilla with the GBD mix.
Here is the grow although there are no longer pics...
I ran 2 White Stompers in 2gal Airpots with Roots Original amended with the Mephisto Auto Super Soil.
No additional nutes. Only Recharge and some OG Tea Veganic Special Sauce.

Yea, I get it, they grow weed.. But when you get into the specs and science of it, 100 watts of anything can't deliver the recommended ppfd for a 2x2.. No light on earth has that capability at this point. Just from the simplest calculation of lumens per watt the SK gets around 90-100 lumens per watt and modern cobs get 150-160 lumens per watt depending on how hard you drive them..

I just wanted to give you the heads up.. Hoping your grow goes well..

Tent is all set up (sorry no pics yet) and I just got a double grape, blue toof, sodk x fantasmo express, and a hbbss wet
i still have not decided what size pots i will be doing except im also doing a reg seed mumbling dragon in a half gallon pot i will collect pollen from in my micro speaker if i get a male.
I was thinking one gallons for the double grape and blue toof and two gallons for the other two because they are bigger strains. What do you think?

This first run with the tent is to see if i can pull off a nice variety stash to smoke on but i will probably end up doing one three gallon pot or something else simple in the future,
I would add a auto cob or two but then heat would be an issue.
I will be using GO biothrive bloom and GO camg+ if needed but im using gbd soil, roots organic original with ewc and dolomite lime, recharge, mammoth p and optic foliar overgrow.

Two gallon pots can grow some big plants, just may need water more often! Glad its,all coming together.
