New Grower 1st Grow Nirvana NLs - day 33 no pistils yet.

Am growing 3 x Nirvana Northern Lights under 135w LED on 18/6. They're on day 36 and they've been preflowering for about 3 weeks, but am concerned because there are no pistils yet and they're quite short - no taller than 8cm.

I did have a PH problem that I sorted 2 weeks ago, it was too low and the bottom 2 sets of leaves are almost all yellow. Wondering if this will mean the plants will take longer to grow? Will it also affect the yield - not confident that I'm gonna get more than a few grams on each plant? Should I change the light cycle to 12/12 or is it too early to panic?

Hey bexter. My nl flowered like 3 weeks behind my other two plants. Maybe it's a slow strain. I had ph on the low side too long but the plant is huge. Looks like it could yield double maybe triple my two others.

Too early to panic...you've had a ph issue that has more than likely stunted ya plants....slow growth may be a result now....my nirvana nl-a did auto, don't remember when but they were behind in time compared with other strains grwoing at the same time. Never hurts to switch to 12/12...I grew all my autos under 12/12 in summer to avaoid heat issues....a bit less yeild but no probs....

Cheers Savoy and Automan. Kinda reassuring that you both experienced slow growth with you NLs too. I made a mistake - they're actually 36 days now. I've gotta get these plants finished by 19th December as am going to be abroad with family for Christmas, so if no pistils by next weekend, I'll flip over to 12/12.

This is a massive learning experience for me, and I now realise the importance of ph. Think I'll upgrade to 240w Blackstar LED in Jan 12 for next grow (2 more NLs and 2 Afghan Kush Ryders), that would probably help them grow faster, bigger and increase yield.

How was the smoke / vape on your NLs - was it as potent as Nirvana claims?
