So, new member question:

About to start my first grow - should I create a grow journal in the forum, or as a blog?

Seems like those are separate sections of the site. Looks like site admins created the blog sections to try to clean up / organize the journal forums and want to steer people towards using those for journals, but a lot of people are still using the forums for their journals?

What's the site etiquette / rules? Seems like a forum would be better for my first journal, and a blog for later journals once I know what I'm doing / am trying to evaluate or demonstrate something / go into detail on a topic / etc?

The blog system was put in as an alternative for members ... it seems they're less popular than the traditional Threads in subforums way of doing things.

I like the old method better, find it more conversational and social and reputation can't be given or received in blogs (a limitation of the software)

They've both got their pro's and cons .. if you're just keeping a journal for yourself, a blog may be the way to go .. if you don't mind people joining in and posting in yout grow, then i'd start with a thread in New Growers Forums!

Seemed like it was "dealer's choice" - just wanted to make sure using the forums wasn't frowned upon, etiquette-wise.

heya @KDawg and to afn! jus me own 2 ctz, but i personally avoid blogland like the plague old skool grow journalz for the win! ppp
