I'm trying to figure out the best lighting for a 4x4 growspace for autos of course but I only have 100 to do It with so any suggestions experts :toke:

Either CFLs or T5 panels, but 100 bucks is kinda tight for a 4x4 if you ask me... I use CFLs in reflectors. One of these setups with a 200 watt CFL, which is a good start, cost me $140. I use 3 of these for a 4x4 space but two would probably be fine, I just like overkill where I can manage it...

If u buy a used light check on how many grows the bulb has been thru more than 3-4 u need a new bulb 20-100 bucks right there..

So far I have 2 300w warm cfls and 4 75w cool cfls and 2 100w cool cfls what else should I get

Well you already have 600 watts of warm and 500 of cool, I would go more towards the warm (red) spectrum if anything, I think that's PLENTY of light for a 4x4 area (more than I use)... I don't know why people are so against CFLs... they run cool, don't need ballasts and cost way less to run per month... No offense to anyone, but it seems us CFL growers have been branded idiots, but I have seen too many successful grows with T5 and CFL to make me believe they suck...

to cover a 4x4 area you need at minimum a 400w hps. to properly cover that area yoy need a 600 watt hps. cannabis need at least 5000 lumens min for each square foot, meaning you need 80000 lumens to cover that area. if this tent is to big sell it on ebay and get a proper size tent but Dont wates your money on cheap leds or a low watt light that wont even cover your area like a 150w. your investment will be paid back to you after your 1st harvest with a 600w, your investment will worth it in the long run. or you can be cheap and be unhappy with your end results. if you only have 100$ you better save up some bmore instead of blowing on shit lights.

peace

Man Dr. Auto, I know you know your stuff but were talking about a beginner on a budget, and I say again, I've seen outstanding grows with florescent lighting. Could they have been even better? Probably... Did they need to? Not at all. Once you kick the dealer it's all a win in my book, and you can evolve from there as you get more experience/money.

Are those true watts or 'CFL watts' ?

If they're true watts, covering a 4x4 with $100 added to that would be extremely easy. Let me know before I go off searching for ya :-p
