Germination
Originally I had started with two specimens, germinated them on a heat matt with moist cotton pads in a baggie and a plate covering. But these two succumbed to the injuries my cat gave them and passed away. So I started it all over again. This time I popped only one seed alongside a sour stomper x double grape. Same method to germinate. 48 hrs later this specimen was ready to be planted directly in to its 3.6 Gallon pot filled with about 3.2 gals of HP promix and then sprayed with Plain PH’d water.
**Seedling stage**
After planting it only took about a day for this seed to sprout and officially kicking off day 1. I put a humidity dome on top of this guava fig for the first few days. After about a week she had true sets of leaves in which I consider the veg phase.
Vegetative period
At day 7 I decided to give her nutrients for the first time, Gave about 1/3 the recommended dose on the bottles of liquid salts. And some additional cal mag with just another two weeks! ( all jokes aside) she handled the nutrients really well and by week 2 she was big enough to start leaf tucking.
Week 2: I started by doing leaf tucking to bring those laterals a little higher. I always aim for an even canopy. I kept feeding every time the pot was light. Her plant structure was very stocky and short, tight internodal spacing. That classic, “Not a Morning smoke” plant structure.
Week 3: By this time she’s fully into the end of the veg cycle and nearing the pre flower cycle. I decided to remove part of the main stem and tie down each branch to be even with each other. I continued to this the entire grow until she was all set. She’s remaining bushy, with curly leaves that have 5-6 fingers. Very close to together type of fingers, all the signs of an indica. She had a green vibrant color, no discoloration, just signs of a healthy growing plant. Further more I started watering until I have run off to measure EC and PH. All was in order. By the end of week 3 I noticed her pistils start to show.
Pre flower
Week 4: I don’t have too many notes for next week, as soon as she hit pre flower I had to leave on vacation and left her life in the hands of a family member. Whilst gone a heat wave happened, poor instructions and no air conditioning. Disaster struck. When I came back she was doing the best out of all the three but her leaves were just incredibly curly.
Week 5: was basically when she began to flower and recovering from the few days of neglect, I started seeing more pistils then buds and they were growing straight up out of the side shoots. At this point I switch to bloom nutrients and I pretty much discontinue the grow. So I only use micro and bloom + cal mag.
Flowering
Week 6: Around this time I can see the buds forming, she has a healthy amount of foliage and is looking a lot healthier. Her plant structure is short and stocky with medium to tight internodal spacing, around 1.25 inches and every bud site on the branch are very closely stacked together as well as no major obvious aromatic profile can be seen unless you rub the tirchomes with your fingers and SNIIFFFFF. In which case it is giving off some spicy candy terps.
Week 7: she is fully done stretching, her bud sites are so closely stacked together it looks like each branch is forming some huge spear of cannabis. Ive never seen anything quite like this. It does not smell any different from the previous week but the noticeable difference is the speed at which she is flowering. Every day they get a little bigger.
Week 8: at this point it looks like one big bud instead of numerous closely stacked buds. I measured one of the spears and it came to be 9 inches tall, and 9 inches seem to be average for each individual branch. Still some healthy foliage but some of the leaves are very curly and losing some color. I think its worth mentioning that the spears were also coated in glandular trichomes. If I touched a bud for whatever reason it would feel like touching greasy glue!
Week 9: Now I can see its true bud structure! Very foxtailed looking buds but its not fox tailing? Very airy but yet dense? Extremely conical in structure! It looks like theirs more bud than branch! I thought the plant would be bigger. But the training gave it a shorther look! Clocking in at only 1.5 ft tall and 1.7 feet wide, she was tiny but mighty!
Harvest day, 76
I observed the trichomes around day 74 and she looked ready but I wanted the sour grape the finish up the same day so I let go on for a bit, at dat 76 her trichs are around 95% milky and 5% amber so i removed all the fan leaves and chopped her whole and hung it up for 7 days, the airiness of the buds let her dry fast. It was not a small yield however! 6.5 ounces!
Cure
Its been about 4 weeks and I have to say, the smell on this, is so hard to describe but ut the terps came alive as soon as she was done drying and got louder in the jars as the weeks went on, I got to smell it every time I burbed so damn near every day and I want to say, Lemon candy zest, under tone of skunk, loud sour candy and starburst.
Smoke report
The smell is exactly the same as the taste whether in a spliff or a pipe or a bong, it all taste the same as its an amazing smoke and the stone is intense if smoked in larger amounts but euphoric and heavy on the body, good for pain and insomnia also focus, I find that it relaxes without being overly sleepy until you’re on the 4th or 5th bowl. Not a wake and bake but a great evening and night smoke!
