Welcome, my friend ![]()
Well done Brother!
Welcome to our Home @HappyBirdSeeds ..
..system has your post flagged as spam..probably because you are a seed vendor.
@frankthetank is one of site Seniors..if you have any questions.. feel free to ask him…![]()
Thank you! ![]()
Hey, welcome buddy ![]()
Kinda hard to tell from photos, but are any of those the more olive pheno?
What day did that little girl show sex?
You had better luck getting a female than I did with my first time with Bloodstone! ![]()
14 planted, 13 came up… With two females!

Is that a regular, junior or one of those other earth box style planters? With either planter, that should be about the easiest way of growing the largest Bloodstone. You won’t have to worry about triggering her into early flower because of the roots.
When I was growing her for the first time to make seeds, I really wasn worried about triggering early flower, but I don’t think I did with the method that I used.
I sprouted them in my AC Infinity humidity Dome with lights and heat mat in Coco coin Pucks by BAS. Once sprouted and hardened off, I put them in these one gallon Disposable nursery bags to keep them until sexed. Once they were sexed, I put them in 3 gallon living earth bags. They had a decent root structure but they did not look like they were anywhere close to being root bound, so I don’t think I triggered them in the early flower.
I think that you will get a much bigger girl in one of Earth box variant than I did in the 3gal.
I’m gonna see what kinda results you get. I really think I’m kind of set on doing the exact same thing I did except transplanting them into more than likely, Earthbox juniors. I really think Reg Earthboxes are just an overkill for these small girls.
With Earthbox juniors wicking area is in the center below the plant, I’ll bet that within 4 days, you could start adding water to the rez, maybe half gal on the first fill.
I think the next time I’m gonna pop 10 to see if I can get at least four females and fill a 2x4 tent with Jrs.
These are all fairly uniform, nice forest green colors. That lady sexed on day 16, along with the culled male. Other two should show in a day or two. If I get two females, I’ll probably run both.
These are city pickers planters. I like the shape better..
I added a gallon to the rez last night…
Why not just direct plant into their final home, rather than stressing them, shuffling them around?
Eventually I’m going to do a breeding project…and I’ll probably plant 20-30 beans in one of these beds, to do a pheno hunt…culling along the way until I find something I want.
I started doing it that way mainly because of simplicity. Ironically it was because I wanted to make more of the bloodstone seeds, so I just popped half, I believe, of what I had.
With the simplicity of germinating all my seeds at once for the entire grow for 3 tents, I wanted to figure out how I could possibly take advantage of that.
Since I’m kind of transferring over to a true living soil in bigger pots with multiple grows after the other, Earthboxes were the best option for growing Fem Autos.
Basically, on the day of transplant, I put my media in a tote and bring up the moisture level to the proper level for planting with water infused with my normal bio inoculates. I then fill my earthbox and apply the first top dressings. I plant the girl, water her in and moisten the top dressing and then put the cover on.
With the first top dressing applied and the cover installed, I don’t have to do anything for quite a while. I might mist the top directly around the seedling every other day. I do not have to worry about the girl being stunted for either too wet or too dry of soil before the roots are well distributed throughout the container. I haven’t noticed any transplant shock with these seedlings. They are only in the humidity dome for a max of 5 to 6 days total time, so the roots aren’t really super crazy when I transplant.
Now, naturally with regular autos, I’ve got to do the sexing part, hence the 1 gallon transplant bags. It’ll be interesting to see when your girl shows first sign of flowering. I’m fairly sure that I documented when I saw mine first begin to flower. I might be able to draw conclusion whether those 1 gal bags hurt any or not. Although earth boxes will throw the timing off a little bit.
By doing it the way I proposed, I’m assured of having at least four females of pretty similar size and age to put in the 2x4 tent.
I might take a look at those style of earth boxes and do a comparison of media volume and surface area in comparison to the other styles. With a higher surface area ratio, ya have a larger surface nutrient mound for the plant to feed on.
Do they wick well all the way to the top?
Yes, they have three wicking corners. The top stays fairly moist as long as there’s no big gaps in the cover (I messed this up initially). I’ll still mist the mulch layer once a week, that keeps things active and gets the feeder roots to spread out nicely up there.
Good to know!!
…was out turning over my compost pile out back… collected a combination of red wigglers and a few earthworms, and put a few of each in each planter ![]()

I also have a couple ferments coming (comfrey and watermelon)…![]()
Went ahead and selected one female (there were two) blood stone…
And the Multiverse Preservation Pack Grand Daddy Purps are 100% germ… @Multiversebeans_Lyra
Happy 420 ![]()
Appreciated. Of course, we have 100% germ promise. Those are quality shots, enjoy ya all’s 20th! ![]()
Blue Dream is up (she replaced the funky looking rbf)…
Anvil will get another week or so…
Bloodstone is finding the reservoir…
The two GDP’s are doing alright…
Most impressive Anvil I’ve seen frank. Absolutely loaded. Who is the breeder of gdp?
Thank you my friend!!!
I bought one of the “auto flower preservation packs” from Multiverse Beans… it was like 10, five packs… they’re Atlas Genetics R & D strains (according to multiverse website). GDP was one of them… I’m going to do another breeding project soon, and wanted a variety to choose from. :bighug_1_: ![]()
