I'm not intentionally trying to inflame anything. I'm just passionate about doing what I can to stop people like this from destroying an industry we all love

i fully understand passion, but quite simply, this is not the arena to be campaigning in about that particular topic...this site is about growin weed, not debating the ethicz & greed of the corporate world...that'z what utube conspiracy channelz are for, lol...pretty much every grower on this site knowz full well about monsanto, scott'z & all the rest...i meself have me own opinionz about em, but keep em to meself...i can't change anything & neither can u...it is what it is  so plz, jus smoke a bowl & chill...u've stated ur opinion, we get it, and well, that'z that with that...ok-? ty  ppp

Understand the point as well- ex organic farmer from Aussie, everyone is entitled to there point of view and should have the right to say so- if you take offence so what grow up that's live.....

I see your point. There's already enough places on the internet where people can go to wave their egos around. But AFN isn't one of them so it's best not to throw the baits about.

I'm a new grower and knew nothing about the industry or monsatos involvement until I read about it last night. They even have Dave Watson creating roundup resistant GMO strains for them.

It made me wanna kick them where it hurts. And where it hurts is the shop shelf.

I'm going to stay active on this topic because I believe it's important but I will certainly refrain from doing so on the threads of AFN

Cheers mate

Yes your are right. It's not even possible to live life without contributing in some way to poisoning our environment. But it still helps to maintain a level of awareness about those who are actively destroying our planet by choice so they can make profits. And when you have a consumer choice whether or not to support them it's seems like it should be pretty simple to me.
I agree that more small private cannabis enthusiasts should be in the market. The problem is, it takes serious amounts of capital and investors. Guess who has all of those? They make it really tough for anyone to get into the market. Its over saturated already. Unless you have a blank check from an endless money supply, you're kind of out of luck. Sure, you might do ok locally, but its damn near impossible to become a household name like GH or any of its subsidiary companies without unlimited capital. Its all about the $ we all know that

For my fellow Europeans reading this topic i would just like to point out that General Hydroponics Europe is a completely separate company based in France. Not owned by GH. They sell the original GH products but also have a few of their own. Infact they are changing their whole brand to another name to further distance themselves from GH. More info here if you are interested. https://www.terraaquatica.com/why-a-new-brand/

Good read!! Thanks!!

In some places where it is legal, it appears to me that cannabis is either being treated like a pharmaceutical or like hard liquor. As such there is really never going to be a place in some jurisdictions for the small grower like there is for such things as wine or craft beer. Sorry boys and girls but them’s the facts and facts are our friends. It also doesn’t help that the natural presumption is that most of the small grocerieSorry boys and girls but them’s is the facts and facts are our friends. It also doesn’t help that the natural presumption is that many small growers are or, have been at some point, engaged in criminal
activities. It would appear that in my state, you can’t even get a job trimming buds if you have a criminal record. So at least Florida appears to be treating employment in the cannabis industry almost as if each and every potential employee was applying for a liquor license.
