Sweet Seeds Jack47 Auto grow

Haha, thanks, but no monster at all.
There's no way you'll have my humidity, unless you like spray / mist them with water every 15 minutes.... :p

Outdoor plants usually have bigger tops because they all receive the same quality of light, no "distance from light" indoor problems.
LST for sure, she'll handle it well, fairly branchy girls.
Yeah I’m noticing the branchyness lol!

Day 24:
So one of the three ladies has had a bigger growth spurt than the other 2. Not sure why, but I decided to swap 2 of them round as the one that has shot up was right by the air intake - maybe having access to the fresh air first helped. So in the pics below, the front right one was the rear right one in all previous pictures and vice versa. She’s got 2in growth on the other two.
Thinking I might need to do a little defoliation but I don’t want to stress them at all.

Please, please, don't follow the crazy rip-all-the-leaves-off defoliation that I see is so popular!!!
Taking off lower leaves that are dying or completely shaded is one thing,
but so many people strip off everything, totally reduce 90% of their photosynthesis and energy sources.
I just don't get it! Just a fad, very little evidence at all.
Ever notice that the vids of commercial breeders (like Dinafem) don't seem to leaf strip (much) at all?

I looked all over for any and all controlled grows, comparing defoliated plants to controls. Unfortunately i found very few. The ones i did find showed clear indications of no improvement but infact a decline in yeild. You would think that of all the people who have grown, they would have done such a simple experiment. However it seems people keep insisting on doing the method without controls and make subjective opinions on the matter. The most surprising one is where people defoliate and somehow are surprised that a few days later there is more growth. Then conclude the success of their experiment. I cannot enough make it clear how important, controlled side by side comparisons are. This is to remove any and all variables that you 'may' or 'may not' expect, regardless of what you have experienced in the past. Visial bias alone is enough to convince somone of something that is not true. Not everything is as it appears.
I have been through many forums and threads where people claim once and for all to answer this issue and would conduct a controlled grow. Only to almost always fall through and never return, countless threads encouraging people to post their results. Nothing!, ever at all comes to light. Only the select few that seriously go through with it, end up showing the failure of defoliation. Most who are educated in botany or horticulture almost always seem to disagree with the method. Field experts in commercial grows do not employ techniques even though there are ways of doing it efficiently. Studies find no connection, no evidence of any kind.

Sorry, #rantoff

I’m inclined to agree with you - leaves are there to photosynthesise. Get rid of them and your plant will put energy in to sprouting more leaves to make up for those you take off (I see lots of threads where people have defoliated and then said they saw more new growth).
That said, on my last grow I was running two white widow xxl’s - I heavily defoliated one and barely touched the other - the defoliated plant yielded almost 20g more. But that might be down to better lst/genetics or a million other things.
Maybe I will leave one of the 2 ‘smaller’ plants untouched (apart from its current lst) and defoliate the other to see if it makes any difference. The lady that has shot up im going to play safe and only remove anything that is redundant or dead.

Day 27: Almost at the 4 week mark! Thing still seem to be going well, a couple of inches growth and some gentle lst just to try and spread the two shorter ones out a bit. They’re really bushy in comparison to their sister in the back right corner. She’s taken off in comparison to her siblings!

Day 35:
So we’ve reached the end of week 5!!!! Some more stretching, the short 2 have made a little ground on the tall lady, but not much. Given they are all the same strain and have had the same feeds and environment I’m assuming a pheno thing has made one a little more leggy than the others. Will be upping the bloom nutes from this week.
