Photoperiod Barneys Farm - Peyote Crit/Watermelon Zkittles/Mimosa X Orange Punch

So Im just throwing this up because all 3 of my plants doubled in size since Tuesday
20250403_230426.jpg

Humidity is starting to really pump up. 3 days ago after watering it was hovering between 55-65%. Now at the same exhaust fan speed I can't keep it under 70%.

Also I raised the light to about half the max height but kept it at the same power, these plants are staying too short for being 2 weeks old. Ppfd went from 350 to 250.

So I wasn't going to post anything about it because I thought these plants would grow out of whatever it is going on. But I keep getting these random pale areas on my leaf tissues. Its on all 3 so its gotta be something in this bag of soil I bought.

It doesnt come through on camera very well and they are different sized patches between the veins of the leaves. So far it doesn't seem to be negatively impacting anything. But it's on every leaf on every plant and it's kind of an eye sore. Ive never gotten a drop of water on the plants either so I know its not from that. It looks dry but feels just like any other non affected parts of the leaf.

Heres some pics

could they all be variegated from the Barneys farm breeding stock?
Edit: do they all have common lineage that has variegation regularly is what i mean.

Ive grown all 3 before and didn't have this issue before. At least if I did it wasnt this noticeable and they may have some shared lineage. Not really sure.

End of week 3 New
So today marks the end of week 3

Plants seem to be doing good, new sets of leaves dont have any of the off colored spots so I think its outgrowing whatever that was.

Watered today, ph to 6.25, plain spring water. I think I need more yucca though. Pots still had a bit of water but barely took a gallon and started running out pretty heavily. Normally after 3-4 days of no water the pots will take almost 2 with pretty minimal runoff. Plants seem unbothered so its whatever

Watermelon Zkittles (pic looks yellowed than it is)

A little droopy and curly today, like I said I let the pots dry out a little bit and the air has been really dry with the cold snap we just had so hopefully the watering will bounce these girls back. Defolaiating a bit and topping the girls tomorrow, will be at 6 nodes on all

So I defoliated a bit and topped all 3 last night. The Mimosa is the only one that doesnt seem to be rebounding back right away. Hopefully she perks up a bit.

Edit

I found out last night that the elastic scrog nets have gotten much better, seems like most companies now are going with 1.5-2in squares instead of 3. I ordered 2 along with some nutes and soft rubber ties. Im thinking this grow is going to be me practicing my lst and lollipopping. I'm gonna see if I can get a nice even flat canopy of all main bud sites and fill ever sq inch I can. All the stuff should be at the crib when I get off work tonight.

So trellis net came in. Looks like they still need to do some tweaking at ac infinity. I definitely bought the 3x3 elastic net, but it reaches all 4 corners with basically no stretch at all. Went to the next square in from the corners to add some tension all the way around, should still do its job.

Gotta say this snap rings are much better than just the rubber coated hook they used to come with! Thinking about getting the mounting bars so that I can add a hook to each of the middle sections. That would put it at the perfect tension all the way around, and it wouldn't be bowing in around the sides anymore.

Anyone checking in, I bought this for silica but its my first time ever using the stuff, there aren't great instructions on the bottle, and Im hesitant to just go with what I've read online. It has available potassium in it, so how often should I add silica? I've read every watering or every other all the way down to once a grow cycle. Thanks in advance for the help

I use silica every or every other watering depending if imadding more supplements or not, but its ysually every watering unless im dealing with deficiency of some sort. I Just like to keep my ppms low and not use an army of products every watering. I just never go over 50% rec dose.

That was going to be my exact approach. You're also suppose to add it first if you're mixing it with other nutrients too right?

I add it once a week and yes add it first then wait 30 min before adding anything else :d5::pass:

“Silica must be added to the water that is <100 PPM or less 30 minutes before you add the next nutrients. What you’re seeing is it is binding to the calcium that is in the water making it cloudy. It is also locking up the silicca, calcium, and Mg making all of them not available to the plant.”
