Hey guys, I’m on day 26, I’ve got 3 plants in my 3x3x5 tent, they’re a little bushy. Are there some leaves I can defoliate so I can get some more light in the plants ? I’ve topped them and LST to try and pull them into more space but with each passing day these girls are flying lol

Forgot to say I’ve plucked a few of the very lowest off the plants just one or 2

Steady on the plucking mate , It can be done , get some grows under your belt first , by the way the plants look great .
This will be my 3rd grow, 2nd in this tent, I’ve been very careful with them, they’ve took a little time to recover after the top, but once they recovered I plucked a couple lower leaves and left them a few days and they’ve came up so fast, had to adjust all my tie downs quite a bit. Just feel like some of the upper leaves are quite large so they blocking a lot of light penetrating and also kinda warping some of the newer leaves underneath that are contorting too get some light

Why the urge to defoliate? I presume there is very little need or logic in defoliating during veg. growth (beyond normal maintenance, such as at a certain point cleaning out the very lowest leaves to allow for better air flow). Who cares if some leaves are 'blocking' light to some lower leaves? In my view, the more leaves (solar arrays and food/fluid storage) during veg. growth the better. Only worry about light reaching lower parts if the plant's in bloom.

I'd keep doing LST, with the plants looking in prime shape and ready for more. Just keep stretching plants horizontally, with that more productive than defoliation at this point.

I’ve plucked the very lowest leaves I was just wondering everyone’s opinion on defoliation, it’s a small tent and these girls are really going for it so was kinda looking for advice to maximise potential in a small space

Hi @Awg52 how you m8? Too many opinions, I would say on this. Do what feels comfortable to you. Also if they are in the way for fertigation, in the medium I chop em off and if I feel like the bottom looks too bushy with the lst.
Good luck m8
