Is this a toxicity or deficiency or what?

Plant is a photoperiod about 18 days from sprout.

Ebb and flow system.

Problem is the orange/rust colored leaf tips.

When I see nutrient burn it looks like yellow tips so I'm not sure what's going on here.

pH is on point, stays between 5.5 and 6.2.

EC is at .9 which could be high for a plant this young but she isn't that dark green?

Here she is in full:

Here is the lower growth where it is the worst:

Here is the next set of leaves where it is starting at the tip:

Any ideas?

Using Dyna Gro foliage pro and Pro Tekt. Pretty complete nutrients so I'm questioning if it's a deficiency...

I've just never seen nutrient burn look so orange if that's what it is.

You may be a little heavy on the nutrients? I may be a couple of things Cal-Mag?

It looks like you are missing Cal-Mag Pro? This is a link to a spreadsheet I used when growing with Dyna-gro. I used it at 50% strength. You can adjust the gallons and strength and the calculations are done for you.

Oops I sent the one for autos here is the one for Photoperiod plants:

Thanks MoG! Are the numbers ml/gal?

I have mag pro but there is no Ca in it. It's Mg, P and sulfur. They advertise it as an aroma booster so I wasn't planning to use it until flower.

I don't think this plant is Mg def because that usually shows as yellowing between the veins, and I've never seen Ca def start in the tips like this. I'm really not sure of anything here though...

I'm still leaning toward nute burn but why is it rust colored???

I'm using pretty close to the chart. Using 4ml per gallon of foliage pro, i think the chart would be pretty close to that at 50%. Using 2ml/gal of protect so that's a little low, but only 1ml/gal lower than the chart at 50%

EC is actually pretty stable, though it was rising earlier in the week. My tap EC starts at .3 and currently the rez is almost 1.0

Really appreciate you taking a look here! It's great to have an experienced hydro grower have a look!

Did you miss the part where I said the nutrients may be a little heavy = too much? That accounts for the tip burn but you have more than just tip burn. It is not serious so don't panic. Little adjustments go a long way in hydro. Have you read my primer on DWC? https://www.autoflower.org/threads/deep-water-culture-basics-bubbleponics.64478/

Use Mag-Pro instead of a calcium/magnesium supplement because there is ample calcium in all complete Dyna-Gro nutrient formulas and those supplements do not have the sulfur, phosphorus and potassium found in Mag-Pro.

Everything On the schedule is needed at the time in the schedule.

Don't pass on the Botanicare HydroGuard.

Looks like a little bit of nutrient burn mixed with low humidity!
Tips are burnt and slightly curling under on the lower fans but not on the newer ones, the low humidity can amplify the effects of this!
Just carry on with the e.c of feed your using and add calcium if it starts showing signs of a def and bump your humidity up a bit and you should be golden ✌✌

I'm actually doing flood and drain with hydroton. Using Zone for root pathogen control and it seems to work pretty good at keeping living things other than the plant in check. I never see any algae in the flood tray anymore and I used to.

I'll try to add the mag pro and see if it helps. It does also look like a potassium def but that would be pretty weird in veg.

The description of the plant does say she is hungrier than a normal plant though.

Looks hungry for magnesium.

Yea thats what i saw, the earliest stages of yellowing between the veins.
Sudden spikes in nutrients can cause need for other elements like mag, etc. Thus the early sign accompanying the tip burn.

There is a lot of unseen cause and effect in growing for sure! Lookin good otherwise!
