HashyApache's Kind Green North

Hashy you are very knowledgeable dude. Glad we meet you seem to know so much about these incredible plants. Ive read most of your post here at AFN and try retain all that knowledge you have been dropping. Thanks man. Maybe someday I can buy ya a beverage and pick your brain to see if there something i can do to maximize my grow. Keep up the great work. Youre a great grower to follow and read. Thanks again for sharing your grows

Well that was interesting , @HashyApache I have some aloe growing around the yard as the wife uses it for skin care , so while see was not looking I cut some off and wizzed it up and watered some parsley with it , I am sure I noticed a difference , they sort of bulked out more , being very hot here at the moment they where a bit slow and the aloe seemed to make a difference , so now I am planting more around the yard .

Daym hashy, now i have to do a better job of growing my aloe. It doesn't like me!

You have given us all some serious information there, thank you. I have just started trying different amendments to soil, have some malted barly and alfalfa meal. I knew my dumbass should have gotten the crustacean as well.
hahaha yeah man aloe is a bit of a finicky plant honestly, they dont like direct sunlight, but dont really do well in the shade, they hate being wet but dont quite like being completely dry. It's honestly like well, what the heck DO you like?! haha
No, thank each and every one of you guys for being so cool and receptive to the new kid on the block. I was always pretty secretive about what I do and really didn't post to the boards much, but I was aaaallllllways reading.
Oooooh that alfalfa is a favorite of mine. It is a good mild plant derived nitrogen source, making it recognized and readily available to the plant, along with an assortment of natural plant growth regulators (The scary word for growth hormones), and it is one of the best food sources for promoting microbial activity in your rhizosphere. It's some pretty kickin' stuff!

Aaaaannnnnnddddd it looks like I missed the seed contest lmao. Dang. That's what you get for being a stoney bologna and being late to the party lol. I need to be more involved in these grow offs and contests! Thank's for thinking of me! If anything else cool comes up, don't be afraid to tag me!

I really appreciate that hugely man, but I am merely a student resting on the shoulders of giants, just trying to soak up what I can, day by day. Other than TONS of reading and research, the only reason I know anything about growing these days is because of the 11 years of trial and error, banging my head off the table, and chasing my tail in circles. MANY mistakes have been made, plants brutalized and killed, crops lost, cash flushed down the toilet, but I was always sure to try and learn from my mistakes. Still to this date, my grows are far from flawless. I am ever learning, and always trying to improve. That's the coolest part about this industry though, it is ever changing, dynamic, fluid, and there is always room to experiment, learn, dial in, and grow.
No need to buy me a bevvy, but I wouldn't mind catching a brew and burning a bone someday talking shop! You just let me know and we'll try to arrange that!

Yes Yes Yes! My man! I hope you suddenly take an interest in that plant, because it has some incredible properties. It's like magic.... but magic that can be explained with science!!! :crying:
I believe it completely man! If the heat has been getting them down, the saponnins in the aloe may actually help. Saponnins are a natural wetting agent!
Glad you got the chance to play with it man, I think it is something that you will be using in your garden forever in the future! Thank's for stopping back in to say hey henco. Always good to see a familiar face!

Sorry I've been such a lazy bastard recently and have not filled you guys in on the garden in way too long. Things are just starting to get fun!
I think I'm going to smoke myself a nice bone of Sweet Seeds Cream Caramel Fast Version, eat a little dinner and fill you in on the past week and a half or so. In the meantime..... Enjoy yourselves some tipper. My all time favorite music producer. <3

Okay okay, I'm done being a lazy ass, and I'll fill you guys in on what is going down in the grow room!
Overall things are going.... interesting.... interesting as always.
As I first suspected, those White widow polyhybrids are definitely photoperiod plants, and they are getting rather large rather fast. Because of that, unfortunately my true love and passion, the autoflowers are going to have to be given the shit end of the stick and are going to be moved into the other smaller room under 1 1000 watt single ended HPS, a 315 CMH (LEC) and a 200 watt BlackDog Phytomax 2 to finish their cycles. It shouldn't hurt them much at all, but I definitely had a few plants in that room who certainly could have stood a couple more weeks of co2 to help them bulk up, but all is well that ends well!
Slightly disappointed that the widows (along with a few blulight) decided to pull a prank on me and be photoperiods, but who knows, maybe I'll find something special in the bunch!
Going to move the Autos into the other room on Sunday, and spread out all of the photos, do some heavy defoliation, topping, LST'ing, and supercropping to get that canopy as low as I possibly can before putting up my first layer of trellis netting. Some plants are already nearing 4 feet tall, and are most certainly going to need to be pretty heavily hacked back. Not looking forward to this abuse, but I'll give them some time to recover before switching things into 12/12. This is going to be.... interesting..... I said it before and I'll say it again.... haha
Love the structure on the widows, excellent indica dom bushes loaded with budsites. There are going to be TONS of flowers in a few months! The photoperiod blulights however..... I'm not huge on. Like the Autos, they are VERY hazy and are reaching for the stars. They are going to require some serious bondage which I wish I got to months ago.... Live and learn I guess.
The Automatic Blulights are really incredible though... dare I say Interesting? :crying: (Okay I'm sorry guys, I'm done. The weed has been treating me reeeeaaaaly good tonight.)
But truly, the branching structure and flowering structure on many of the Blulight are incredibly unique. Many phenotypes grow like a classic lady fingery haze, even more so grow almost like cookies with small clusters of knuckly tight flowers loaded with resin, and others like the perfect auto, a Christmas tree with tons of branches, tight internode lengths and generous blooms. While there is lots of variation in the growth and flowering structure of this breed, there is one thing that every phenotype has in common, they all share the same outrageous aroma of blueberries and dirty socks. It really smells like nothing else I've ever grown. Cant wait for some of these ladies to get to finishing up!
The first ones to flower seemed to express the strange flowering tendencies, while the later ones seemed to have a much more classic structure. Just something for me to note in the future!
*All pictures are 5-6 days old. Progress has been made since these pictures were taken. I'll be sure to update with new pictures of ALL strains early next week!*

First up is the weeeeeiiiiirrrrddddddd hazy/cookies ish phenotype.
IMG_3582.JPG

Some strange looking flowers, but judgingby how hugely swollen the presexual calyxes are on her I honestly think she may surprise me with how much she fills out in the last couple of weeks of her life (just like GSC does). Only time will tell though! This plant was incredibly frosty and aromatic from the get go. Been a real fun one to grow from this point.

IMG_3554.JPG

Holy ladyfingers batman! This plant will NOT be used in any breeding, but was kept around because... well... I have never grown anything in my life that looks quite like this. Smells great and is greasy as a sewer rat already. Should make some killer hash!
IMG_3583.JPG

This one should be done in the next 10 days or so if I had to guess. Flowers are rather small in diameter, but spears quite tight and frosty!

Next up, the northbound trains are coming along nicely, doing their northbound thaaaangggg. Plants are extremely uniform from specimen to specimen. None of them are outrageously large by any means, but they really do have some insanely dense and large flowers on them. The flower to plant ratio is off the charts really. She would make an excellent candidate for auto SOG set ups with a 16 or 25 plant per light configuration in 2 or 3 gallon pots. It would probably make for a pretty damn productive grow if numbers don't scare you. Probably going to try to breed her with a larger male to get some slightly larger offspring out of the next bunch, but otherwise pretty darned happy with this girl.
IMG_3487.JPG

Heres a few of them about 14 days ago...
IMG_3491.JPG

Looking wildly chunky already at ~25 days from flower, I know she would be special.
IMG_3517.JPG

Just a few days later, a shot with the lights on. This lady in particular I believe to be the keeper of the bunch and will likely be used in future breeding projects. She is not huge, but she is nothing but flower!
IMG_3519.JPG

A close up on her top a little over a week ago revealing her beginning to gain a bit of mass. At this point already she was getting rock hard.
IMG_3571.JPG

A quick night shot on one of the other NBT's
IMG_3580.JPG

Eating her leaves a bit earlier than I would have liked (100% my fault I just need to get myself a soil analysis) but otherwise doing well and chunking up like a champion.

Last but certainly not least, we have our Mazar x HLK crosses, and just as I had hoped, she SO FAR seems to be much of the best of both worlds, a wonderful mix of Afghan Indica Genetics and a bit of a sativa influence from the HLK. Plants have what I would cal perfect structure. Tall Christmas trees loaded with long branches stacked from top to bottom with flowers. She appears to be a bit slower than some of her cousins, but I think she is going to more than make up for it. I LOVE where she is going with this!
IMG_3523.JPG

here she was about 10 days ago or so.
IMG_3525.JPG

and a few days later.....

Got some real keepers in the bunch that I'd be lying if I said I was not excited about. I'll be sure to pull some girls aside and take some real vanity shots when I make the move later this weekend. Until then, Cheers my friends! This Apache needs to catch some Z's!

I know this isn't a forum for Photoperiods, but I figured that I'd share with you guys a couple of shots from the photoperiod project tent. Running a couple of local strains looking for winners. So far, my current favorite is his Black Tuna (from the black tuna gang) x Shark Shock. She is stacking super tight, and growing dense little spears caked with trichomes. Going to be real interesting to see these girls in a few weeks fully loaded!

Thank you my dude! Some of those flowering structures are uhhhh less than ideal I would say, but they are resinous as hell, so if nothing else, I expect her to make some bomb ass hash! I've never seen flowering structures like that in anything except for some crazy equatorial landrace sativas.
Hell yeah man! Sounds like I'll have to stop by and enter into the grow show! I've seen 912GreenSkell's work, and I've got to say that you are correct. That man grows some of the best outdoors on these boards!
I grew outdoors every single year for the past 11 years EXCEPT for last year, and man am I regretting it! It was the perfect season for my tough climate. Didn't get a hard frost until mid October which is extremely unusual around here. I'm sure next season will be wet and with an early frost knowing my luck, but I'm going to be back at it under the sun, doing sticky icky things!
Have an awesome weekend Dudeski!
