once again, I was into this as a DiY project until I saw the use of cardboard. Cardboard + any heat source, not matter how small = potential fire hazard! At the minimum I'd treat it with a flame retardant such as this:

No doubt! I have one I use during the winter time outside to start my garden seed early to have nice size plants for outside. I made that one out of a 10 gallon aquarium turned upside down with a mini green house on top made from plastic and wire fence. There is a lot of things you can use for these. I seen in the supply house this type of fabric for when you sorter copper pipes in houses to keep from setting them on fire.
 
Off topic sorta but what kind of tarantulas ya got? I am also a T-keeper!
