What do you want to see on AFN going forward?

This is what I was emailed by the actual state government in response to a question regarding selling cannabis seeds

So the alternative of calling it a hemp product seems a grey area that I would be hesitant to

Well, the feds can't declassify it, unless they change a treaty agreement. They can reclassify it but they can't remove it from the schedule without that treaty agreement Change.

Congress has to do that.
Yup

A beginners guide, instructional on pressing rosin… like times, pressures, amounts, and afterpress techniques for storage, etc. I know we have a section for extracts but this would be the “for dummies” version. I know our site stepped away from the “potentially lethal” instruction concerning BHO. Figured with a no frills starting point for those that want to start pressing would be excellent.

Under/beside that could be strain/yield bragging and lamenting to help growers for whom rosin is the final goal. (Yeah, I know there are myriad factors)
Literally a STICKY THREAD :crying:

To address a few replies:

*A repository or forum to share EMPIRICAL research

Of the many goals and ideas for the forum, one of them would be to start building out "official" tutorials that we can reference to and as a community.

IMO, our goal should be not necessarily finding information that we can ALL agree on (because good luck with that,) but that we can GENERALLY ALL agree on that's backed by evidence and data.

The Autoflower Network has been doing this longer than ANYONE on the planet has in terms of serving the growing community when it comes to information on autoflowering cannabis. That lends an incredible amount of credibility to what comes out of our mouths (collectively,) but that also means that we have to be careful with the information we're touting as correct, truth, etc etc.

I've been putting together a format for tutorials and education for the forum, that states our objectives in terms of scientific method and CHALLENGING the science behind what is presented (even if it's information that we ourselves present.) Kind of a "let's cover our asses" statement for any tutorials posted up, that say "hey, it's not just me, or just one person offering up this information, but what WE (as a community) have generally accepted to not just be true, but repeatable, verifiable, and backed by actual data.

To help fend off the trolling shit bags that tend to show up when you express excessive brain usage; for anyone that wants to CHALLENGE that information, having a clear path to how they can do that (without being a trolling shit bag) is important too, because we can think one thing, but then maybe there's that one person out there that has some perspective, knowledge, or information that makes the current information outdated, non-relevant, or otherwise.

So YES to creating tutorials, but having a flow or structure to how that happens is going to be a critical part of that process.

This might be a big ask, but a

WHITEBOARD function could be immensely useful

apologies if it already exists and I haven't discovered it....

I've seen some chat add-ons that offer white boards (software that would replace the existing LIVE messaging you see at the bottom of the screen,) and it's something we could look into, but I guarantee that it's going to turn into a constant battle of erasing weiners and boobies drawn on it when no one is around.

How about better coverage/inclusion of AFN in Google and other search engines?

Search results from AFN on grow-related topics used to be much more common. I don't remember any showing in recent searches. Maybe your search engine instructions file or other Web site search engine settings could use some adjustment? Or has AFN been tagged by Google, etc. as too cannabis-related, not suitable for pubic access, or what?

I had a journal for a tester plant on here that used to show up at the top of searches for the strain. I don't see it at all anymore :pass:

Maybe a dedicated area for "organic recipes" or "soil recipes" if you will.. For those of us interested in building our own soil but don't know where to start or how much of this or that to add. I'd love to learn from anyone willing to share recipes that work. Having that all in one area would be nice.
