i got to where i could make very good sourdough muffins without a recipe. Same with bread dough. But maybe it was just because i did them so often, back when we still ate those sort of carbs. Very seldom have bread in the house.

Ordinary meat loaf (whatever that is) is, uh, okay. Preferred by the toofless in the family, i'm sure. I did find an italian style meatloaf that was very good, it was stuffed with cheese and smothered in Italian spiced sauce.

Hubby cooks as much, or more, than anyone else in the house. He got a new toy...a sous vide, and has been experimenting with new recipes. If it were just me, i would seldom cook, probably just soup most of the time, it's what i like best. Otherwise, fruit smoothies, or fruit with homemade yogurt...and graham crackers, as they are my go-to snack. Mostly, i'm fine with soup.

Wasn't escargot for dinner, butz mushrooms stuffed with crab meat :smoking: I do like them snails sauteed up in some garlic n butter though :smoking:

Mostly missing the rarer spice blends I’ve picked up, and no longer around.

What did you have? :eyebrows:

I'm a big fan of dumping Baharat into things and watching people rave about it. Koshari is a house specialty. good baharat blend is a gold mine. Do not lose it!

Ras el Hanout and Za'atar should be easily found as well. Those three blends are an easy way to blow the pants off those used to bland but not spicy food. I think zatar is not that great but you should try it.

I usually get told I've ruined dishes because I can't lay off the harissa! hah!

PS - F Garam masala.
